What we clear

Everything the office doesn’t need any more

Most office clearances are a mix of furniture, electricals and paper. Each goes a different way, so we separate it as we load.

Furniture

Desks, pedestal drawers, task chairs, meeting tables, booths, lockers and tambour units. Dismantled on the floor where it won’t fit in the lift whole.

IT and electricals (WEEE)

Monitors, PCs, printers, phones, cabling, kitchen appliances and AV kit. Kept out of general waste and sent for WEEE recycling.

Recycling & WEEE

Paper and archive boxes

Old files, brochures and archive boxes, recycled as paper. Anything confidential should be shredded by a specialist before we collect.

Kitchen and breakout areas

Fridges, microwaves, crockery, vending leftovers and the contents of every cupboard nobody has opened in years.

Partitions and fixtures

Loose screens, shelving and storage walls. Where fixed partitions and ceilings are coming out, that’s a strip-out.

Strip-out waste

Reception and comms rooms

Signage, display units, server racks and the boxes of spare cables that collect behind them.

When businesses call us

Moves, downsizing and the end of a lease

Office moves

Clear what isn’t coming with you before the move, or empty the old floor once the movers have gone. Our office move waste checklist helps you plan it.

Downsizing and hybrid working

Fewer desks, more meeting space. We take out the surplus furniture so the floor can be reconfigured without a skip on the street.

End of lease and dilapidations

Leases usually require the space to be handed back empty. We clear it to a bare floor so your surveyor and landlord can agree the dilapidations.

Clearing City buildings

Planned around lifts, loading bays and the building manager

Clearing a floor in a City tower is mostly logistics. The goods lift has to be booked, the loading bay has slots, and the building manager wants a method statement before anyone touches a trolley. We sort that out with you before the day.

Because we load straight into a caged tipper, there’s no skip on the highway and nothing left waiting on the pavement.

  • Out of hoursEvenings and weekends when the building allows, so staff on other floors aren’t disrupted.
  • Lift protection and accessWe work to the building’s rules on lift protection, routes through reception and the loading bay.
  • Phased clearancesOne floor at a time, or one zone at a time while the rest of the office keeps working.

Hard drives and confidential paper

We clear the hardware, not the data. Wipe or remove hard drives and phones before we arrive, or have your IT provider arrange certified data destruction. Confidential paper should go to a specialist shredding service first.

Tell us what has been wiped and what hasn’t when you book, and we’ll plan the clearance around it.

Your duty of care, in plain English

Every business that produces waste has a legal duty of care: store it securely, hand it only to a registered waste carrier, and record the transfer with a waste transfer note describing what the waste is. Keep those notes for at least two years.

We give you a waste transfer note for every job. Our guide to waste transfer notes explains what one should contain and what to do if a supplier can’t produce one.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

How do you price an office clearance?

By volume and access: how much is going, how far it is from the floor to the vehicle, and whether we need to work out of hours. Photos or a short walk-round help us give you a firm written price.

Can you clear the office in the evening or at the weekend?

Yes, if your building allows it. Let us know the building’s working hours, lift booking rules and loading bay times and we’ll plan the clearance around them.

Do you reuse or recycle office furniture?

We separate furniture, metal, paper and electricals as we load so as much as possible is recycled. If you have furniture in good condition, mention it when you book and we’ll talk about options before it goes.

What happens to our IT equipment?

It’s handled as WEEE and kept out of general waste. We don’t provide data destruction, so wipe or remove drives before we collect. See recycling and WEEE.

Do I get paperwork for the clearance?

Yes. You get a waste transfer note for the clearance, which you should keep for at least two years under your duty of care.
